
Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acids (AHA and BHA)
These substances, many of them derivatives of Vitamin A, are the ones best shown scientifically to increase the amount of collagen in skin . Since loss of collagen is a characteristic of aging skin, these compounds restore volume and fullness to the skin. Vitamin C has also been shown to more weakly stimulate collagen production. Microcollagen preparations are new attempts at improving content of collagen.
